HIV/AIDS in the Indigenous Community: A talk with Sheldon Raymore from the American Indian Community

Goals and Objectives

The National HIV Strategy 2020 included Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis among the recommended HIV Prevention Tools however the under-served and under-reported, American Indians/Alaskan Natives lack access to this information. Many challenges present themselves in a number of ways. 1. Encourage Native people to get educated and to learn more about HIV/AIDS and it's impact in their community; 2. Work together to encourage testing options and HIV counseling in Native communities; 3. Help decrease the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS.
