American Indian Community House Volunteer Program
Our volunteer program is designed so that all parties involved reap the benefits of community service work. We are a non-profit organization and your assistance is very important to us.
At AICH we use volunteers in several ways. We ask that all volunteers partake in our specific, project-oriented
activities. These are the not-so-little tasks which often get laid aside because of lack of time or staff but which are crucial for our success. These jobs such as a community bulletin, fundraising letter mailing or organization of our clothing bank. We will assemble as a volunteer group to tackle these tasks as they arise.
The second way we use volunteers is in our specific departments. If any department has a special task or
request, and the volunteer coordinator feels you have the skills/interest to assist, we will arrange for you
to work for that department; hours and details will be arranged between the department head and yourself.
Not all volunteers will be used in this way and it may not be possible to work in the area you would
really desire, but the greatest help you can give is having the flexibility to meet our varying needs. Please
note we may do a background check prior to accepting new volunteers.
