Irma LaGuerre

Irma was born in New York City, and is of Aztec, Tarasco, Taino heritage. She is an actress and singer. She graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with a Masters of Music degree in opera and theater. Irma was mesmerizing in the production of Juan Darien: A Carnival Mass.  She performed in the musical both on Broadway and on the international tour. In the Broadway version, she undertook the role of the 'The Singer’ and a song was written especially for her. Among her major Broadway roles: The King and I (Lady Thiang, opposite Yul Bryner and later with Rudolf Nureyev for the national tour). Her television credits include: The Sopranos, Law and Order, All My Children and numerous commercials. She is currently starring in the TV production Rosa’s New Life Café as Rosa; Showtime’s The Big C with Laura Linney and Liam Neeson. As the acting director for the Children’s Cultural Center of Native America in NYC she strives to combine her art with her commitment to the community.
